TEHRAN – The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, has described the Iran nuclear deal as a positive and historic step.

In a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Saeed Sadegh Mohammadi on Tuesday, Ivanov said the deal would play a pivotal role for establishing peace and security in the region, the Mehr news agency reported.

He stressed that the commitment to the agreement would lead to long-term viable economic cooperation and reinforcement of mutual trust instead of tension and sanctions.

The Iranian envoy, for his part, called the nuclear deal between Iran and 5+1 group an important event which will be registered in the history of international politics.
